Technician: Stage and Flys
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Technician to join our talented technical team.
About you and the role
You would be joining our technical department, comprised of Technical Director, Head of Electrics, Head of Stage, as well as a team of 4x stage technicians, 4x lighting technicians, 2x sound technicians, 1 x Studio technician, 1x staging apprentice, and a pool of casual and freelance technicians.
As part of this dynamic team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the theatre’s performance spaces and associated areas. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that the highest artistic and technical standards are met for both visiting companies and in-house presentations, and maintaining the stage and staging equipment to a high standard.

About Capital Theatres
We operate three prominent venues in Edinburgh: Festival Theatre, Studio Theatre, and Kings Theatre. Our venues host a wide variety of performances, including drama, dance, opera, music, musicals, comedy, and cinema.
- Festival Theatre: is one of the largest stages in the UK, with a capacity of around 1900 seats, and regularly hosts major touring productions
- Studio Theatre: plays an essential role in the development and presentation of new works in Edinburgh's dynamic cultural scene
- Kings Theatre: is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment, with plans to reopen in early 2026 as a major mid-scale touring venue
