Ideas Exchange 2025
Ideas Exchange is an Imaginate event for the young audiences sector to share new performance ideas for children, to talk about interesting ideas and challenges, and to meet each other including a chance to meet new people.
Ideas Exchange 2025 is in partnership with Capital Theatres' Open@TheStudio and will present two early-stage sharings from artists who have been working with Imaginate, a panel discussion hosted by Capital Theatres and networking.

Rehearsed reading - The Day I Died by Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir
An excerpt from Kolbrún's play for age 8+, an interactive radio play for the stage, examining loneliness, neglect and our primal fear of being let down by our heroes. The Day I Died was part-supported by Imaginate at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, a residency week that took place in July 2024. This reading involves Ros Sydney (Dramaturg), Tom Oakes (Sound) and two actors.

Panel discussion – presenting ASN performances
Claire Swanson (Head of Creative Engagement, Capital Theatres) will host a discussion to explore best practice in presenting performances for disabled young audiences including ASN schools.
Launchpad scratch sharing by Dorine Mugisha
Dorine will share an early-stage scratch of a new dance performance for children exploring body image and growing up with Black hair through movement and live music. For this sharing, Dorine will work with Jaïrus Obayomi (Dramaturg) and Marie-Gabrielle Koumenda (Musician).
Dorine is currently an Imaginate Launchpad artist. She is interested in seeing more diversity in dance, especially the representation of plus size bodies and people of colour.
