Plus or Minus Forty Winks' is a suspenseful play by the up-and-coming local playwright Aric Hanscom-Ryrie. Created and performed by the BA (hons) cohort of Edinburgh College's Dance and Drama course, the play explores the complex dynamics surrounding the concept of sleep through the narrative and dance. It converges the lives of Penelope, a sleep yoga tutor, and Cameron, a self-proclaimed 'insomniac by choice,' who become unlikely flatmates.
As their clashing ideologies unfold, the narrative takes an unexpected turn when Penelope, seeking to understand Cameron's unconventional perspectives, commits to an all-night exploration. Within the depths of this engaging narrative, we learn the truth about Cameron's aversion to sleep, adding layers of complexity and intrigue to the storyline.
Plus or Minus Forty Winks' is a nuanced examination of the human psyche, offering a fresh perspective on the significance of rest and the untold stories hidden within our minds.
