Black Acid Soul is a dazzling debut that weaves together well-loved pieces, including Nina Simone’s ‘Blackbird’ and the Voice’s of East Harlem’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive,’ along with original songs that showcase a unique ability to combine the personal and the political with assurance.
